An Egyptian Experience
E G Y P T
Ancient Egypt is the land of camels and cats, deserts and pyramids, feluccas and sphinxes. It's where famous Cleopatra once lived and where history prevails. Stepping into the land of Egypt is like reading very old pages of a history book.
The prehistory of Egypt begins with the first human settlement to the beginnings of the Early Dynastic Pyramid period around 3000 BC.
Ancient Egypt is divided into several periods:
1) Early Dynastic
2) Old Kingdom
3) First Intermediate
4) Middle Kingdom
5) Second Intermediate
6) New Kingdom
7) Third Intermediate
8) Late Period of ancient Egypt
Between Ancient Egypt and what is now Modern Egypt there was the Greco Roman Egypt period and the Medieval Egypt period. The Modern Egypt period has existed since 1882.
The pyramids of Egypt have survived a multitude of centuries. The Pyramids of Giza impress and inspire spectators on a a daily basis. Alexandria was the home of Anthony and Cleopatra and a leading city of the ancient world. Founded by Alexander the Great (Alexandria) is known as the city by and beneath the sea. It is one of the most visited spots in Egypt.
A cruise on the Nile River is an authentic North African adventure as is snorkeling the exotic waters of the Red Sea.
It can take weeks to visit all of Egypt's attractions; Abu Simbel, Cairo, Egyptian Museum, Karnak, Siwa Oasis are just a few of the attractions to experience while in EGYPT.
Cucumbers for Egyptian Salad
The foods of Egypt are unique and delicious. With countless days of hot sunny weather the Egyptians enjoy simple foods that are easy to prepare. One of my favorites is "Egyptian Salad." It can be enjoyed with some pita bread (an Egyptian staple)
