LAKE BAIKAL (The Pearl of Siberia) A freshwater lake that is the deepest in the world and one of the cleanest lakes. It's the seventh largest lake in the world and surrounded by mountains. This wondrous lake has over a thousand species and is worth seeing during your tour of Russia. The nearest big city to Lake Baikal is Irkutsk. This is a good city for lodging options. The International Hotel Sayen 13B Karl Mark Street, Irkutsk is a nice designer hotel with lots of amenities. The Irkutsk Hostel Zhelyabox 23A/1 is a good value. They offer dormitory, twin room and one bedroom apartment accommodations. Don't miss out on glorious views of Lake Baikal from all angles. You might even want to enjoy a Siberian Vodka drink. MOSCOW the capital city of RUSSIA is the most populous. It has the largest community of billionaires in the world.  MOSCOW is situated on the Mooskva River and has more forest area within its borders than any other city in the world. MOSCOW may have long winters and short summers but that doesn't stop visitors from flying into MOSCOW and experiencing all the fascinating things it has to offer. With one of the deepest underground metro systems in the world navigating around MOSCOW is easy. Once you arrive at one of Moscow's airports you can begin mingling in Moscow and mastering your way around the city like the locals. Northern Michigan (A Winter Wonderland)

Northern Michigan encompasses a broad range of landmass. Not to be missed is the unique  Upper Peninsula which is a world of its own. One of the grandest Great Lakes  (Lake Superior) is located in the Upper Peninsula. On the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in the Northwest corner of the state lies a popular city known as Traverse City. Traverse City like much of America this winter is experiencing heavy snowfall and lots of cold weather but that doesn't stop the locals and tourists from enjoying all the attractions the area has  to offer. A Taste of Traverse City

                                                      HAPPY 2014 It's the new year of 2014 and I wish I could make plans to travel again BUT right now I'm working two jobs and keeping busy in Traverse City, Michigan. I moved here a few months ago to take care of my Mother and although it snows here practically everyday I really do like Traverse City. I'm currently living right in Downtown Traverse City and I have really learned to navigate my way around this northern Michigan outdoor's paradise. I learned that Traverse City is a a foodie's town. In fact Traverse City attracts a lot of amazing chefs that work magic in the kitchen... there's even a famous chef that summers not far from Traverse City.                                               Downtown Traverse City at Christmas Two months ago I relocated to Traverse City never expecting this much snow BUT it does snow a lot around here because of the lake effect. As I get to know this region more and more each day I'm in awe of the beauty that Northern Michigan has to offer. Traverse City a jewel of a city is nestled between two gorgeous peninsula's " Old Mission" and " Leelanau," The area is an outdoors paradise with fresh air and lots of sporting activities in the winter months. There's lots of lakes around here as well as vineyards and cherry orchards. Traverse City is a "foodie town"with a multitude of tasty foods ranging from sushi to pasties.
